"Timely throw from Vince Young to David Clowney up the sideline. Would be tough to catch Clowney in the open field when hit in stride."

What the hell is going on four QB's 3 pre-season games left and the team is a hot mess. The coach need to make a decision on who is the back-up QB is and let that QB start working to get some consistency with the second team.

The coach need to make a decision on who is the back-up QB is and let that QB start working to get some consistency with the second team. Calm down, VY will have a great shot to end this battle in the next game. He only needs to improve his passing from last game and continues to move the chains. Thigpen will look bad as always and maybe he will not have another shot with the 2s.

Here my point from the look of the team they need a lot of work on timing switching QB is not helping.

In red-zone work, Thigpen didn't get the offense in the end zone on six plays. Fitzpatrick came on and hit Dorin Dickerson with a perfect strike vs. Da'Norris Searcy for a TD in the right corner of the end zone. ... Young threw a 15-yard TD strike to Graham after a nifty step-up in the pocket. Graham got good separation over the middle at the goal line.
===> I agree that they should focus on Vince and let Thigpen stop taking up so many snaps that Vince could use to get his rhythm down with the offense. It is really distracting to have this switching between QBs. For the rest, I don't like that the media mostly tries to be quiet about anything positive that VY does. And that Bills fans seem to be such homers for Thigpen is mindboggling. I think Bills fans are like the dog that gets kicked too much: you seek to make friends with other dogs who get knocked around all the time too. And Vince ain't getting knocked around....

Bills fans don't like Thigpen, but a lot like and want Fitz to succeed. They worry that if VY does well, the media will start a QB controversie, and they don't trust VY to be the guy. As a Bills fan, i'm thrilled to have VY in my team and can't wait to see him take over the Bills and led the team to the playoffs. He almost did that 2 times with the Titans, i belive he can do this year with Gailey adjusting the offense to his skills.

One-minute drill The two-minute drill turned into the one-minute drill Saturday night as the offense starting from 30-yard line had 30 seconds and no timeouts to reach the end zone. The second team offense went against the second team defense first and with nine seconds left on the clock, Vince Young hit T.J. Graham on a post pattern in stride for the touchdown as time expired.
The first team offense didn’t fare quite as well. Ryan Fitzpatrick couldn’t connect with Stevie Johnson on first and second down. After hitting Scott Chandler for a short gain on third down, Fitzpatrick couldn’t hit Johnson again on fourth down ending the drive.

By Joe Buscaglia og wgrz radio:
"Vince Young, working with the second-team, delivered some solid strikes over the middle of the field with his receiver in stride. He paired that, however, with continuing his trend of not pulling the trigger and a failure to make up his mind quickly enough as the pressure was collapsing the pocket. "
Could be this "not pulling the trigger" thing a result from years playing for Jeff "don't turn the ball alway never ever or you will be benched" Fisher?

2nd practice of this week
VY back with the 3s today. He will be with the 2s in the next game but it looks like he will continue to rotate with Thigpen in practices.

I don't think this coach wants VY every time VY pulls ahead he changes the rules. He went to the press about VY struggling learning the playbook. On thursday whole team looks like struggling with the damn playbook.

Before the rain came, Vince Young hit Scott Chandler for a 20-yard touchdown on the quarterback's first throw during 7-on-7 work. Other highlights: Ron Brooks intercepted Tyler Thigpen, snatching the ball away from receiver Kamar Aiken, who bobbled it. ... Young sold a fake handoff well and took off on a bootleg around the right side for a nice game. ... Safety George Wilson leaped in the air at the line of scrimmage to bat away a throw by Ryan Fitzpatrick. The ball nearly was intercepted by linebacker Arthur Moats before falling incomplete. The Bills ended practice with some goal-line work, during which running back Fred Jackson scored after taking a direct snap.......
He's catching on guys!!!

This is from Chris Brown The second unit on offense wasn’t quite as successful on their three goal line plays. Tashard Choice broke the goal line on the first play for a score, but Johnny White was stopped short on the second carry. A play action pass by Tyler Thigpen to Fendi Onobun in the left corner of the end zone fell incomplete. The number two quarterback job between Tyler Thigpen and Vince Young still looks like a dead heat. Each of them have turned in some nice plays here and there, but no one has demonstrated a level of consistency to separate their game from the other. This shit is crazy

Ive noticed that this particular writer doesnt seem to side with VY. You have that type or writer on occasions. But look at the Buffalonews.com writer for the bills. He gives more actual fact. He notices, as well as us, how good Young is.

thank you just added that to my favorite. Here a question M Dot why has the coach made this so hard for VY to get playing time with the second team ?

The National media has a lot of influence on how a player is perceived, if you haven't noticed espn hates him, jim nantz hates him, al michaels hates, troy aikmen and joe buck hate him probably because of 1-3 but you would think they all would be professional enough to put that aside and evaluate and analyze him fairly but they don't. What are you going to do, there are billions of dollars behind that network and those guys, so vince is not just going up against nfl defenses, he has proven he can handle them. he has to play at such a level that those entities biest are clear.

I don't think this coach wants VY every time VY pulls ahead he changes the rules. He went to the press about VY struggling learning the playbook. On thursday whole team looks like struggling with the damn playbook. In Chan's defense, he not changed any rule. This is a battle and he will give a fair shot for both. Next game VY will be with the 2s, and will have an opportunity to separate himself more on this battle. He had the best first game of the two and everyone saw that, despite a lot of writers insists to say they were even. Look, the best for VY is have all second team reps, but it will not happen. It's a battle and VY only needs to focus on get confort on this offense and he will be fine. I don't care if he can't buy chemstry with the second team receivers. They are rotating a lot too, and VY will need to be ready to play with the first team when the season starts, not the second team.

This is from Fan Post from Buffalo Rumblings Quick Observations From Camp (8/11) I went to camp tonight for the first time. I am pretty sure this is the last night-practice. These are just some quick things that stood out to me. -Vince Young should be the backup quarterback. He made some very solid throws and made some good plays on his feet. I was very impressed with him. -Tyler Thigpen made a few nice throws, but overall VY looked head and shoulders better. -Ryan Fitzpatrick needs to step it up, and fast. He made some terrible throws. In the last part of practice (30 seconds to score), he overthrew Stevie over the middle twice in a row. If this happens in the regular season, Stevie is going to get seriously hurt. www.buffalorumblings.com/2012/8/11/3236849/quick-observations-from-camp-8-11

yes, I am getting very anxious: fans who just write down what they see, see what this guy sees (that it is ludicrous to think Thigpen could be considered better than VY). but the media is quiet or actually singing this 'no separation' song that chris brown sings all the time. i sure hope that I am wrong, but it sounds like Vince put himself in another situation where he is in a small martket and the coach controls a couple of key media guys (remember paul kuharsky and jim wyatt?) who he has write what he wants them to write.
it can all work out, but it can also backfire. I think Vince has no choice but to show that he has learned from his time in TN and just perform on the field, even if the coach is making it difficult to succeed. if he let's himself get caught up in the unfairness of it all, then we will see a Jeff Fisher repeat scenario. But he seems much more mature now. So, if he just keeps his eyes on the ball and does not get distracted/upset about the rest, Thigpen should fade into the background at some point.
Disappointed with Gailey though. He is looking very small-time so far. This team is not going far if he does not start making some smarter choices, even if he considers them tough choices.

Look at it in all honesty... Its obvious that VY is playing better than thigpen. BUD ADAMS and the owner of this Bills team have a long history, they are good friends. Remember when BUD flicked the owner of this team off, after VY went for 210 YDS, 1 TD, 1 INT, along with 29 yards of running. His stats were better than every bill player at the time. WHY WOULDNT YOU WANT VINCE. At this point of time Gaileys Job may be on the line which is to why he is scared to potentially use Vince. As long as VY keeps doing what he does, he will be ok.
