Only reason VY doesnt have a Job at this point is that Winning is not as important as it use to be. Some people would rather win in the future over Now. Tannehill sucked, weeden sucked, Titans Sucked, Fitz Sucked, I can keep going. VY is the Allen Iverson of the NFL. VY should have a competitive job by the end of this week.

from the board messages that you linked to Justafan:
"Actually this post is dead on true....Anyone think maybe the defense gave up because they know this team might have fared better with another qb under center than Fitzpatrick....Gailey said Vince's two interceptions "you can't do that?" Really? What what about Fitzpatrick's 3 almost 4 interceptions....What's the excuse for that....Chan Gailey is on the hot seat and it is getting hotter with his poor decisions....What is Thigpen doing on this team?"
that captures it very nicely. and I agree with MDot: apparently politicking your boss and massaging the media is more important than winning in the NFL. I am going to throw up. Over Gailey's pitiful head of medioctiry first.

It's now after week one, so signing players doesn't guarantee their contracts for the year, so if he's going to get a look, the next couple of weeks would be the time. One place may be Arizona where apparently Skelton's ankle is pretty busted up.....
TheSidelineView.com's Adam Caplan confirms X-rays of John Skelton's right ankle didn't reveal a break, but reports the Cardinals are "calling around for QBs." It's still likely that Skelton is dealing with a dreaded high-ankle sprain, but CBS' Jason La Canfora reports the Cardinals are optimistic the injury isn't "as bad as it seemed." Regardless, even an absence of only a few weeks would necessitate Arizona taking a look at the QB market.

Smith: Fitz was so bad that Tebow could not be worse if he could. Mario Williams embarassed himself against some dude who was rotting on the PS somewhere last year.
And on and on. Hey, in dark days, even a little crease of light helps make it through the day...

IMpressive. I promise you that I did not write that post on the BBMB. But maybe I was just observing what everyone is realizing about why Gailey cut Vince.
As I said, if Gailey's mask falling means that people re-evaluate his decision to cut Vince, it can only be good for Vince.
And for the rest I agree with that poster here who said F*** Gailey. Sorry Fernando that you are caught in a bad situation, but we better hope that Vince gets 'reinstated' in the eyes of NFL coaches and GMs and gets another shot soon. He is a leader who needs a team...

OK. Let's hope justice will come for the others sometime soon as well. At least there is now a leaguewide recognition of what I said to expect from Mario Williams. Hopefully people will reevaluate their conclusions about Vince soon as well: Damien Woody played many years on the offensive line for the New England Patriots and New York Jets. This year, he has been a huge Buffalo Bills fan.But after what Woody witnessed from Williams in Sunday's season-opening 48-28 loss to the Jets, he's not sure what to think anymore. "Mario had no effect on the game. None. Zero." said Woody, who watched the game from the stands next to some Bills fans at the Meadowlands. "For him to blame replacement officials as the reason he got dominated yesterday, I think that's pathetic," Woody said. "There's no ifs, ands or buts about it. "You're the big free agent. You're the $100 million man going up against a guy that was on the practice squad and inserted in the starting role just a couple weeks ago. I saw a lot of times Mario was one-on-one and couldn't do anything." "To not have any production? And then to try to blame it on replacement refs? I mean, come on, man. You've got to be kidding me." www.buffalonews.com/article/20120910/SPORTS/120919877/two-bills-drive

WGR: The Harsh Reality is Looming Here one of the post Love ItToday, 03:45 PM#46 AlabamaWCH Member Nice read. But, there was “no need” or justification or FACTS to lump Vince Young in with all of the other folks mentioned as former or current Buffalo Bills employees, where they “ALL” did not or have not or doesn't look like they will be capable of elevating the Buffalo Bills to a higher echelon as the folks in Buffalo THINK they deserve to be elevated to a higher echelon in the professional football hierarchy for winning, for whatever reasons. To say Vince Young was EJECTED out of Tennessee or Philadelphia or say those who ejected him out of BUFFALO were credible is just “NOT” credible. To have credibility in ejecting Vince Young from ANYWHERE, your next move “MUST BE” to show that you can win or at least do better than Vince Young, which is all Vince Young's record SHOWS is that he CAN WIN, does win and has won everywhere he has ever been. NOT ONE person mentioned in the article brought to the Bills what Vince Young brought to the Bills, which was a record of WINNING, where Vince Young's worst season he got EJECTED (using your word) out of Tennessee was .500 (4-4) in his last year AFTER 30 victories, where the owner to end the squabble just got rid of both Jeff Fisher and Vince Young, when it was Jeff Fisher “ONLY” who should have been cut. But, getting rid of Vince Young DID NOT change Vince Young's winning record that he built in Tennessee. He made the Playoffs in his 2nd year in the NFL in 2007. His record as a starting quarterback with Tennessee is 8-5 (2006), 9-6 (2007), 1-0 (2008), 8-2 (2009), and 4-4 (2010). He was even 1-3 in Philadelphia. The whole stat book to include ALL years in Tennessee on Vince Young is here: http://www.pro-football-reference.co...s/oti/2006.htm It was NOT Vince Young's fault that he was tried to be made to be a BACK UP, when apparently Buffalo needs a STARTER or needs Fitzpatrick to hurry up and step up his game, so we don't have to read further stories such as this WGR article and the thousands of others like it, where Vince Young is tied to losing, when Vince Young have NEVER LOST anything in his whole career that the organization would have been better off without Vince Young being there. Philadelphia's coach “HAS TO WIN” this year or else be fired, but had the LUXURY to get rid of Vince Young last year, while the coach was operating under the immunity of NOT getting fired. And Tennessee has a new 1st round quarterback that it doesn't look like he is even going to come close to the success that Vince Young had in Tennessee and the coaching staff is 100% pulling for the guy, whereas, that was NOT the case with Vince Young there. Anyway, let us try to keep the FACTS straight. If you didn't like or want Vince Young, don't attempt to discredit Vince Young, while basing what Vince Young did working with a SECOND or THIRD string team in Buffalo Preseason games as “IF” somebody was better than Vince Young was on the team to include having PROOF of that fact with winning RECORDS, which we all know don't exist and then the FIRST STRING goes to get blown out by the “lowly” New York Jets, who Vince Young has NEVER lost to the New York Jets or has taken more than three games to turn a team around from LOSING to winning. It is like throwing your baby out with the bath water and then wonder why you don't have a baby. ;D boards.buffalobills.com/showthread.php?429018-WGR-The-Harsh-Reality-is-Looming/page3

Did Chan pull the plug too early On Vince Young?Let's face it, Fritz has been awful since he either bruised a rib or filled his wallet...you pick. Vince had a horrible pre-season game and he was history. Fritz throws three interceptions in the first game of the regular season and he is still hanging in there. How much more time is he going to get? One more bad performance and Chan knows he will be looking for a job himself. The alternatives now are Thigpin and Jackson. Jackson who went from starter to 3rd at Seattle. I think Vince deserves another go. Right now we have nothing to loose except the season.... Love to hear your takes on this...flame away.-__ forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/149936-did-chan-pull-the-plug-too-early-on-vince-young/

What the hell wrong with NFL this article said it all. 10 Things We Learned From the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1 ) Michael Vick has not changed. All of the talk this offseason was about Michael Vick limiting his mistakes in 2012. He promised President Obama that he would slide. He spent so much time studying film that head coach Andy Reid often had to kick him out of the film room. And nothing really appears to have changed. Vick threw four interceptions against the Browns, made five dangerous throws across his body to the center of the field, took an NFL-high 16 hits, and almost turned the ball over twice on the final drive. Sure, he got the job done, but if he plays like that against a legit NFL team, the Eagles have no chance to win. 10) Winning mentality. TheThe only victory came when backup quarterback Vince Young led the Eagles on a long touchdown drive to break a 10-10 tie in the fourth quarter against the Giants. The defense stopped Eli Manning in the final minute. Eagles just did not win close games last season.www.rantsports.com/nfl/2012/09/12/10-things-we-learned-from-the-philadelphia-eagles-in-week-1/

I'm just really sad with all this Chan Gailey and Fitz thing. It looks like Fisher and kerry Collins, no matter what Chan will continue to play Fitz. He has the excuse to not put Jackson and thigpen is thigpen. Sad, because VY could really be good with the Bills and i'm very depressed now. No easy to be a Bills fan, i have no hope, Fitz will play well sometimes but will never led us to anything. We need to start all over again and we were so close, if only they keeped VY today all the fanbase would be asking for him. Sad

NFL AFC East: 5 Players the Buffalo Bills Will Regret CuttingNFL AFC East: 5 Players the Buffalo Bills Will Regret Cutting Source: James P. McCoy/Buffalo NewsEvery year, NFL teams have to make incredibly tough decisions regarding who makes the final 53-man roster. Most of the time, the players cut end up bouncing around the league or practice squads without ever making a mark. Sometimes though, these players come back to haunt the team that let them go.Seriously.Sometimes, although rarely, it’s because these players become a stud for another team. Often times, it’s simply because the team turned out to really need whatever skills that player could provide. This year, the Buffalo Bills made (mostly) prudent decisions on who to get rid of. However, there are a few cuts that made even the most devout Bills fan ask themselves just what Buddy Nix and Chan Gailey were thinking. Here are five players that the Bills could end up wishing they had kept around. #5: Vince Young Rick Stewart/Getty ImagesDon’t get me wrong. Vince Young did not have a great preseason. In fact, his preseason numbers (25 of 52 passing for 276 yards and 2 INTs) were dismal. But let’s be honest. Is Tarvaris Jackson going to be any better?Jackson hardly saw the field in the preseason with 3 for 6 passing and an INT, lost his starting job to an unproven Matt Flynn and the rookie Russell Wilson in Seattle and still cost the Bills either a 6th or 7th round pick.Vince Young was already on the roster and wasn’t going to cost the Bills any draft picks to keep. Considering Tarvaris Jackson is at best the backup QB in Buffalo, giving up a draft pick to swap backups is basically senseless. nimcr.com/2012/09/06/nfl-afc-east-5-players-the-buffalo-bills-will-regret-cutting/

Post by Just A Fan on Sept 14, 2012 17:31:03 GMT -6
Why it won’t be easy for QB Jackson Bills QB Tarvaris Jackson is doing his level best to absorb Buffalo’s offensive system, but GM Buddy Nix explains why the task proves more difficult once the regular season starts. “It’s tough. It really is. I’m not going to sugarcoat that. Once the season starts it’s really hard for a guy,” said Nix in his weekly appearance on WGR Sportsradio 550. ”Now he’s in every meeting so he’ll be prepared for that mentally. He’s a smart guy, but as far as reps in practice he doesn’t get many.” For a third quarterback the number of reps to get further acclimated to the offensive system are few and far between in the practice setting, because the main focus is to get the starting quarterback ready to execute the game plan for that week. The second QB then gets a handful of reps in the event that there’s an injury and he has to step in. The 3rd QB really only gets scout team reps where he’s executing plays of the opponent instead of the plays in his own team’s offensive system. This week Chan Gailey is likely to still have Tyler Thigpen as the number two signal caller as Jackson continues to work to get up to speed with the system.
Christopher M. Golba · Top Commenter What a joke of a regime. These people will keep Thigpen in at #2 over Jackson which makes no sense. Why trade for the guy if your not going to use him. I swear it's like I'm in the twilight zone rooting for this team. The Bills will be 3 yrs behind because of Nix and Gailey. Gailey and Fitz will be the scape goats. Young was cut so there would be no q.b. controversy. Because everyone knows the fans would be calling for him after that 1st game by Pickspatrick. I wonder when the next 5 yr plan will start. Most likely next year when they draft a q.b. Reply · 5 · Like

what a dumb decision to trade a 6th round pick for a guy who wont have time to learn enough plays...a guy who threw 12 passes all preseason? why did they cut VYoung again? He was lauded for outplaying the other QBs on the Bills roster and being QB2 after the first two preseason games, then he has one bad game against the Steelers and they cut him? Not only is that dumb, that seemed chicken ish to me.
