I think we all feel like Skip: oh sh*t. I hope someone gives him a shot.
Jeff Fisher really f*cked with his head early on and Vince should have not been so emotional. Fisher is no Mack Brown. Nobody is in the NFL.
Cards, Jags, whole slew of teams could benefit from him, but he is going to face that liability/downward pressure anywhere he goes. And he partially put that on himself. Awful.
I may not watch football for a very long time. Well, frees up a ton of time on Sundays...

it is hope, not expectation anymore. let's see.
we will keep our fingers crossed. but maybe we need to just wait for an injury to a QB

VY Career is almost over. As hurtful and sad as it is... it comes down to a few teams. Vince will not get picked up by teams that are expected to be good. He will only be the blame when it goes bad. He needs a team that has talent but arent really that good. Therefore he could step and and put a team over the hump. A place where he could throw a int and its ok... That goes to say, the only teams I see for him are:
Arizona- he would bring excitement, better than both QB's. The fan base remember his 99 yard comeback.
Kansas City- Surrounded with Talent, Close to Texas and Jamal Charles
Jacksonville- No real fan base, he knows the division.
Vikings- I personally dont think ponder is that good.
But thats about it, he is to talented to not be playing football. May even have to consider the CFL.. it sucks but its money to take care of fam. I wish him the best

ugh. the NFL is staring to look a whole lot more ... shrill maybe? I don't have the right words for it, but the thought of VY getting derailed by a small number of dumb mistakes (letting Fish get to him, bad game in SEA, stupid stupid stupid play against the Steelers - especially after Gailey saw the writing on the wll with fans chanting to replace his golden boy Fiz with VY (uh, that will never happen with Tjax)) and then ending out of the NFL is pretty horrifying.
I hope against hope that he ends up on the GB roster or some other high-guality organization, who trains hima nd gives him his confidence and rhythm back as a QB who still can lead many teams in the league for many years to come, if he plays his cards right for once

I highly doubt that Greenbay would take that risk. I had to come down a little bit and be honest with myself on alot about VY. If GB were to take a chance on him, i would bet you my life that the fans would hate it with a Passion. They WIN with Rodgers, so imagine if Rodgers went down VY comes in and throws a Pic on his first throw... No way in Hell GB would take that risk due to the fact that in all honesty, he very well may throw a pic. Why would they risk Training VY, he has been in the league for 6+now, too many rookies that are worth the try. Vince needs to go a Team that Sucks, so that he can win over fans for the starting position, he would gain the confidence of a team that way. The underlying issue in Buffalo was between Vince and Gailey, I think that if Gailey doesn't win this season, he is fired. Nix is giving him full control, basically telling him to get it done or thats it. Vince was caught in the middle. What really sucks is to see vince get passed up by teams he completely destroyed. Come on Cards, Come on Vikings, Come on Kansas... Come on somebody. Give him a Shot

well, maybe he can start with not throwing deep passes on his first play. usually QBs try to get into a rhythm before throwing deep. for a reason.
hopefully you are wrong and GB or some other team is willing to restore him to his old glory by keeping him on the bench for some time while he fully integrates with the team.
and even any one of the teams that you mentioned would be good enough. although teams in turmoil are not great places to rebuild...
the dark days have come early this year, my friend. very dark, very early.

Fred Jackson was interviewed yesterday on the Blitz with Gannon and Schein and confirmed what Cameltoe refuses to acknowledge: Vince basically wasn't picking up Gailey's system fast enough for the coaching staff and did not have a strong enough grasp of the terminology. Jackson defended Vince on that point by talking about how it was his third year and he was just now getting it down, but went on to say that for whatever reason the team just didn't have enough time and traded for Tarvaris because had a background with Gailey's system and is expected to pick it up quickly.
Straight from an insider's mouth. Make of it what you will.

And yet here's what Chan Gailey said to the press:

On what is a realistic learning curve for Jackson:
I do not know. I have spent a little bit of time with him and he seemed to grasp… you only have so many plays in football; it is just what you call them.

I do hope they go down in flames. And I have all the confidence in the world that the rib-injury excuse will sound very hollow before the end of this season: they simply have an offensive scheme that is easily understood (which is made all the easier by Fitz' limitations) and therefore neutralized after a handful of games at best.
i say they start going <.500 way before the bye and Gailey is gone by yearend. Fitz will be written off as Gailey's pet with no future in the NFL. but in the meantime, they managed to give Vince a bad rep.
And yes, Vince was stupid enough to play right into their hands with his screwup of a performance against the Steelers. It is almost as if there was one type of performance that he should not have delivered that day...and he went ahead and did exactly that. Very frustrating.
But yes, I had stated before that I was actually worried about Vince making the team ,because the team is far worse than the Bills fans and local media let on. By November these people will be heaping scorn on Gailey.
And that may save Vince if a QB goes down in December: they will say that maybe he did not get a fair shot after all.
On that note, I half think that Gailey will have the gall to keep TT on teh roster. Just like Fisher giving his staff million dollar extensions weeks before he got fired: you scratch my back (and tell the media that the other guys is the bad guy) and I will scratch yours...

borna_horn Just noticed that despite the 2 picks last Saturday, Vince still threw for more yards than Fitz and had a higher completion percentage. But Fitz is the starter and Vince is getting cut for Tavaris Jackson. $#@! you, Buffalo.
Preseasons stats: (cut from team in bold)
Fitz - 21-43 (48.8%), 208 yards (4.8 YPA) , 1 TD, 0 INTs
VY - 25-52 (48.1%), 276 yards (5.3 YPA), 0 TDs, 2 INTs
Thigpen - 11-23 (47.8%), 94 yards (4.1 YPA) , 0 TDs, 2 INTs
Jackson - 3-5 (60%), 1 yard (0.2 YPA), 0 TDs, 0 INTs
B. Smith - 1-5 (20%), 12 yards (2.4 YPA), 0 TDs, 1 INT
And the 0 TDs is misleading, because obviously VY set up the 2-yard TD run vs Minnesota with his 2 passes totalling 84 yards.
What a $#@!ing crock!

Cowboys are looking for a back-up. Jerry Jones could very well give him all the confidence he needs. Cowboys O-line sucks but they have weapons at WR. So I imagine Romo getting smashed by the line, send in the Mobile QB.. Who knows!!! Dolphins are thinking about Slashing Garrard...

Cowboys would be incredible. Romo always gets hurt. And they have a real team with real weapons. Don't jinx it, don't jinx it, don't jinx it ;-)
If Jerry is looking like he can't find his cell-phone, someone dial Vince and hand Jerry his phone....

I doubt the Cowboys show any interest, they already have Kyle Orton as their backup. Arizona or KC might be interested.
