Young's two-interception performance in the second half of Saturday night's exhibition loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers might've cost him a job. It certainly caused the Bills to lose confidence in him to be their top backup. The Bills on Sunday worked out a trade to acquire quarterback Tarvaris Jackson from the Seattle Seahawks. A source with knowledge of Sunday's developments informed me the Bills demoted Young from his No. 2 job before the trade was finalized. blogs.buffalonews.com/press-coverage/2012/08/mike-martz-tarvaris-jackson-deal-good-judgment.html

today in NFL.com by Greg Rosenthal:
Position Battling 1. Assuming the Tarvaris Jackson trade goes through, we would expect Vince Young and Tyler Thigpen to get cut later this week. Young made this trade happen by completing less than half of his 26 passes for only 103 yards and two picks on Saturday night. As the last member on the Vince Young bandwagon, even I know it's time to give up.

He'll catch on with another team. The Bills gave him a shot, it just didn't work out. He had a good attitude and worked hard. He thanked the fans and the coaching staff on his twitter account.
