Thanks for posting that JustAFan. Probably not going to listen unless he announces that a NFL team has 'seen the light' and brought him in to replace a bad QB. I will say that it is good to see the Titans and Bills fail so badly at QB after passing on VY. At least they get what they deserve. Very frustrating that Vince is not in the league anymore. I am watching way less football as a result of it though. Will take me a long time to get over that disappointment. Anyway, all the best to VY and all of us. Best, Joan.

coupla comments/thoughts:
1) How Christian Ponder can still be considered a bona fide backup QB and VY is out of the league is baffling. Or a confirmation that this league has now become pure business and much less of a sport.
2) Did anyone notice how soft / reasonable the media coverage was of the Ponder debacle? You know what you would have read if VY had been in Ponder's place...
3) Ditto for Kirk Cousin's performance last week, when he threw pick after pick?
4) Seeing Jay Gruden at the Redskins make comments like this (Asked if Griffin was playing a significant role in helping Cousins during games, Gruden told the room, "We don't need him to help" and "Between myself and (offensive coordinator) Sean (McVay) talking to Kirk, I think it's more he's there to pat him on the head and tell him to hang in there") we can see a) why Kubiack would never have drafted VY even if his life depended on it b) that Jay Gruden is a douche c) a repeat of the Fisher-VY dynamic in which RG III is better off figuring out which team he wants to play for next year. Unless Gruden gets the ax at the end of this season of course...
I am still watching the 2nd half of my Niners, but not going out of my way to watch even that anymore. Very frustrating experience.

bumped into this: www.tennessean.com/story/sports/nfl/titans/2014/10/21/tennessee-titans-worst-starts-finishes-nfl/17684851/Interesting when you look through this: a) remarkable how many mediocre seasons they have had b) if they had included 2010, you would have seen the impact of VY on that franchise even more clearly: 2x brought them back from a terrible start and the 1x he left after 6 games they imploded for the rest of that season... I think if VY had not have been so irked by his irritations/frictions with Field Goal Fish, and maybe work the politics of the NFL better, he could have moved on to a team with a real shot at winning. And he would still have been in the league. In the meantime, we see Jay Cutler F**king up with abandon, Christian Ponder getting a pass for years, and so and so forth. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth ;-(

I agree Joan! It is really hard to look at the NFL the same way when you see Vince's talent not being used like it should! And watching pitiful qbs in the league!

It's all BS! And can anyone explain how in hell Fisher is still a coach in this league? Mediocrity at it's finest! Karma will certainly take care of him!

on that note, gotta love that last sentence in this paragraph from the NYGiants - TN Titans preview on nfl.com:
"Zach Mettenberger hasn't locked down a future gig, but he's put up the best numbers of any Titans quarterback in his starts this season with a 60.7 percent completion rate, 254 yards per game, an 8:5 touchdown-to-interception ratio and a 91.8 passer rating. He's also lost every game he's started."
So your best performing guy is someone who lost every single game he started. Need we say more....

i thought this was interesting: it sounds like Jim had a mindset that was very much like VY. And everyone in SF is convinced that the owners are doing everything they can to get rid of him, even though his performance on the field was pretty impressive until this season (when management decided to start getting rid of him, according to many sources):
“Harbaugh’s going to land in the NFL somewhere, and he maybe will land a wiser fellow for it,” Ratto said. “He wasn’t very good at worrying about the politics. He thought that football would trump all, and the fact is, it clearly doesn’t. When people are operating billion-dollar industries, which is what each team in the NFL is now, there are other considerations, and Jim’s got to be more aware of those because he failed in a spectacular way in understanding that the job of the head coach is not just coaching anymore.”
Spineless political folks like Field Goal Fish are going to be around much longer than we want, it appears. Frustrating like hell.

You are so right. Till the league is open and more people can own teams the old boy's club will be in affect.

Happy New Year to everyone.
When looking at the Cards and other teams with mediocre QBs at center, you wonder why VY ain't playing for those teams. Oh well. New year, new coaches, probably no news on VY in the NFL. Sigh. Well, on to that leftover eggnog and let's see if volleyball is exciting :-) Just kidding. Bya

When I look at the way the Seahawks are constructed and the relationship that Pete Carroll has with his team, especially Russell Wilson I know that is the kind of organization Vince should have been with. Carroll is a real players coach. He allows his team to be who they are. And he supports them all the way. Jeff Fisher is a control freak. I don't see much difference in Vince's game and Russell's game. Oh well. I am routing for the Seahawks. That is a football organization that is topnotch.

i don't know what i did wrong in a previous life, but I appear to be cursed on a NFL level: after VY leaves the stage I am left with nothing but my home team (niners) to root for. who proceed to undermine their head coach who just wins (sound familiar?) in ways that would even make Field Goal Fish blush (Tomsula was doing 'preliminary' interviews with potential assistant coaches in November already) and hire a tool who gets rejected by Lane - who needs a spine anyway - Kiffin and others. All the while the Seahawks are doing exactly all the right things. Sigh!
Because I am in Niners country I cannot morally root for the Hawks, but I agree with your sentiment and it is too bad that VY had his worst game as an Eagle against them. I will root against them mainly to shut up that loudmouth Richard Sherman, but yes, you are right: that is a topnotch football organization doing everything right.
