Updates from Thursday, May 1 Ian Rapoport of NFL.com has more on the Browns' level of interest in Vince Young: Ian Rapoport ✔ @rapsheet Follow The #Browns are expected to sign QB Vince Young to a one-year deal after his tryout, source says. Very cool comeback story Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports talked to Young's agent about Cleveland: Vince Young's agent confirms he's signing with the Browns today. The fire is lit always. One thing a lot of people don’t know, I love this game so much. ... ... I don’t really want to talk about the past. I’m just happy to have the opportunity playing for a historic team, a respectful team. to watch video click on bleacherreport.com/articles/2044068-vince-young-rumors-latest-news-and-speculation-on-browns-and-more

Well Mandel very small 5'11 smaller than Vick. And if Vick cannot see the field how do think Mandel see the field. That why he did not go high in the draft. He a project but if he does not pan out they have not lost nothing. VY at 6'5 if can learn the system will be the starting QB this year.

I think it is good for Vince...Why? Because Vince and Johnny have similar styles....It is easier for the team if they have 2 qb's who have similar styles...They both move around the field easily...Johnny and Vince and one other qb will make the team... That is my thinking....

I agree Audrey. Also, I think it is less important for him to make the jump from being out of the league to being a starter in one fell swoop. If he can show that is still very viable NFL veteran QB material this season, then he will get a better shot next season. In the past, he has failed when he tried to do too much too quickly.
I do think that an all-TX lineup at QB would be amazing with Hoyer getting traded elsewhere. I am not sure if that is in the cards, but I think so many people had written off VY that he needs to get past that stigma first. Once he sheds that, he can be recognized for what he really can (still) do. Maybe Johnny can help show VY the money in this case in the longer term...

VY cut. They keep Thigpen. It's awful. Seriously, i don't known what happens with VY, but every team prefers bums over him. It does not makes any sense. VY needs to be really dumb on film room or something because it's hard to belive.

Never given a full shot! Apparently the NFL is not about winning....No way is Hoyer or Thigpen better than Vince an we all know that! Add the Browns to the list of teams who will regret this decision....

ugh. this is just getting uglier by the season. my only vague hope is that Vince was told he would get a shot at 3rd string or worst and he said he preferred to pursue other, more interested teams instead. If they just outright cut him, I don't quite know what to think anymore. The Texans did not address their need for a franchise QB in the draft ;-) Yes, stop throwing buckets of #$%^&U*I out over me for saying that. Gallow's humor.
Well, back to waiting for better times. Hopefully they last longer next time...

So Tyler Thigpen stinks and the Browns keep him over Vince....Interesting...I think when the Browns got Manziel they made sure he doesn't have any real competition...Because his skill set and Vince's skill sets are very similar...Vince is larger though...Bad move by the Browns!

Yeah, stupid move by the Browns. To be frank, Young has a better shot to win NFL games than Hoyer or Manziel. But due to how popular mythology works or whatever, people actually think a 5-11 Manziel has a better chance to win an NFL game than Vince under center. Stupid.

Yes. Very disappointing. Well, that frees up time for other things, I guess. I will check in with my local Niners once in a while. But overall very disappointed how Field Goal Fish could give him such a bad rap, making it frustratingly hard for him after that. And yes, after that, he had his chances and also choose to be in bad spots sometimes (e.g. the Bills). But all in all it is frustrating to see that those 'side shows' ended up derailing his career. Good luck to y'all. Winter is coming...

Totally agree Joan....Funny the Titans nor Fisher have done anything since parting ways with Vince...I am waiting to see how karma plays out! Maybe there will be someone on the horizon who plays as exciting a game of football as Vince...Sorry but I don't think Manziel can do it as well! Keep in touch y'all!
