Packers Start Making Roster Cuts, Vince Young Among Them
Obviously, the big news is the release of quarterback Vince Young who had been working as the Packers’ top backup to Aaron Rodgers as recently as the final preseason game.
The question now becomes, where do the Packers go from here?
One option would be to go with B.J. Coleman, who has the advantage of knowing the Packers offense, but also looked like he has no business being operating an NFL offense at this point in his development.

Must be something else going on with Vince Young. Hands down he was better than Coleman, considering that VY only had a month to learn the playbook. I don’t think the Packers gave VY a fair chance here. Now we have to either bring in a veteran with zero knowledge of the playbook, zero preseason snaps or go with Coleman. I expected a bit more foresight from our genius Teddy T.

Two examples for you
1. Back shoulder throw to Ross down the sideline in the last preseason game. The entire Packers team cheered for that throw
2. Touch down throw to Amosa
I realize that these are only two examples, but VY was at a huge disadvantage with no OTAs, minicamp or better portion of Training camp to learn the playbook and get the timing right. Considering those factors I would say he was much better than Coleman.

I think Young would be the number two without those fumbles on Thursday night.

Pure insanity.
The backup will be Coleman or someone with zero experience in their system.
The shallowness and fragility of this roster is startling.
With their OLine, to have no option behind Rodgers is simply irresponsible.

I have to agree with you on this one 42. I,ve been scratching my head all day about it.
If Rodgers goes down, and Coleman comes in, the offense will be almost unwatchable.
