Big day for VY. I really expect he can do well today and start to separate himself from those mediocre guys he's battling against.

Whew. Wow, Harrell is baaaaaad. (just watched his first offensive drive- can't really call that a drive though). The stream that I'm watching the game on, has a LOT of people saying in the chat room that they want to see Vince playing, NOT Harrell.

And this steam I'm watching is from the official Rams broadcast network... and it is annoying the flying fuck outta me how many times they show extreme close-ups of Jeff Fisher's face/moustache. God how I hate that man.

that was a good series from vince i think. the TD was just off with a #2 WR. with a #1 WR it would have been a TD.
he looks pretty comfortable for someone who has been with the team for just over a week. let's see how the next series goes.

VY needs to be better than that. C'mon, i known all the dificulties, not having enough time, etc, but c'mon, we're talking about Vince Young, he's not looking like himself anymore. He needs to impose himself against those weak 3rd stringers, and he's not doing that.

VY been there 12 days a lot learn in short time if he get a month of time he will look a lot better. He not working the best receivers.

i known, but the thing is, VY will not have a fair shot anymore, the best chance he can have is one like that. Last year he just ruined everything in the game against the steelers, and gave Gailey a reason to keep his boy Thigpen. Now, he needs to show he's a better player than those two booms, but he's not doing enough. Vince is so more talented than those guys that he need to show more than that. He has the tools to make that, even with so little time. It would be nice if he had more time, but we need to live with what he has, and he needs to make something happen fast, because the time is running out.

If Mike Mcarthy wants VY on the team then he will make the team.......its that simple. Obviously Mcarthy doesnt like Harrell or Coleman.....The GM already said he wished they brought in VY a lot sooner. I think VY will make the team.....but thats my opinion.

Would I have been satisfied with Vince's performance had he been with the team during all of training camp (let alone getting Starter/first string reps)? No.
But I gotta say, he looked just fine for somebody playing his 2nd game (not with the 1st string too), after A YEAR off, AND only being with the team for a little over a week. His performance was pretty fucking fine.
And I couldn't believe that the Refs called off his touchdown pass. Pissed me off.

Hey, the Green Bay Packers Showed Up In Week Two of the Preseason Where the hell does Big Ted find these guys? One of the things that remains interesting to us is the backup quarterback situation. You know what we think about Graham Harrell. Vince Young was the third quarterback and came in early in the third. He went 5-for-9 for 26 yards and ran once for seven yards. Frankly, we’d like to see Young work with the No. 1 offense and see what he can do. B.J. Coleman has fallen far. After getting second-team reps during Family Night, and performing terribly, he’s been the fourth guy the last two weeks. That being said, he made the most of his opportunity this week, going 8-of-13 for 86 yards and throwing the Packers only touchdown — to Jake Stoneburner. Coleman’s problem has been making stupid decisions. He didn’t look like that guy on Saturday night. And with that, two down, two to go. www.totalpackers.com/2013/08/17/hey-the-green-bay-packers-showed-up-in-week-two-of-the-preseason/

GREEN BAY - The path for the development of Green Bay Packers backup quarterback Vince Young may not be laser quick, but that doesn't seem to faze the team's head coach."I don't think it's realistic to ask a quarterback to come in at this particular time and get caught up to the other guys," said Mike McCarthy on Tuesday.Young is battling incumbent second-stringer Graham Harrell and third-stringer B.J. Coleman for a backup quarterback position."The other guys have been here throughout the spring."McCarthy said that while Young learns the offense, "I want to see him be comfortable and play the game, and we'll adjust accordingly. When you have a system in football, you have to be able to absorb any athlete."

fernando, you need to cool it. he is playing it smart. and if that TD catch had been ruled in, everybody would have said that Vince had a super night.
his attempts to show how much he is capable of - while having very few snaps- is precisely what got him in trouble in Philly and Buffalo. VY is someone who needs to build up a bit of a rhythm before doing great stuff. If he rushes it and tries to stunt right out of the gate, you get these situations like in Philly, where he came in for 1 snap against the Redskins and immediately threw an ugly interception.
And against the Steelers last year, if he had played like he played tonight, it would have been much harder for Gailery to chuck him like he did.
I do think that he needs to play better every game and if he ever gets a chance to play with the 1s, he should show flashes of what he can do. But he should not rush and make errors that get him on the hot seat.

CD Angeli @tundravision
Have no idea what Young could have done with proper snaps and without defenders in the backfield right away.
CD Angeli @tundravision
I always feel like players you want to evaluate get screwed in the second half of the game in preseason. What could Young do behind 1st OL?
CD Angeli @tundravision
Young hasn't made any stupid mistakes yet.

I really agree with Joan Fernando....Mike McCarthy is doing what a good coach does and that is bring Vince along slowly....He is catching on and will be fine....I think he makes this team and McCarthy will work with him....
