Coming out of the minicamp practices Vince Young is still trying to nail down some of the nuances of Buffalo’s passing game, but considering the short span of time the quarterback has had to immerse himself in Chan Gailey’s scheme his progress is considered to be solid at this point. “He’s done a very good job under the circumstances,” said Gailey. ”He had to come in and try to learn all that stuff. It’s very difficult. It wouldn’t have been as hard two years ago, but we’re in so much more of an advanced stage now than we were two years ago. He’s trying to learn what the based concepts were and how we’ve advanced to where we are today without having the benefit of going through the baby steps. But he has a natural feel for playing the position.” Gailey said that the competition between Young and Tyler Thigpen will be an interesting one to watch in training camp. Young has more regular season experience, but Thigpen has more experience in Gailey’s offense.
